I have a 2000 Ford Excursion 6.8 v10, this past weekend I removed the motor from another excursion (same year model and motor) and put it into mine. Both motors ran before swap-out and everything was working on my vehicle before swapping them, the only reason I changed them out was because both of my heads had one spark plug hole stripped out and i got the motor for free. My problem now is that I have no electrical power anywhere in my vehicle not for dome lights when door opens nothing. The battery has 12.42 volts coming out of it, if I run a test wire straight from the battery to the small cable on the starter the dash lights will flicker and if I put it too the larger cable it does nothing. Now I may be wrong but if I remember correctly when I touch said wire to starter it should try to turn over and crank up. If someone can give me ideas on what to test I would greatly appreciate it.
Should be one little wire to the little post, and the rest down there go to the big post that the big wire from goes to. I think anyways, it's been a wile since I've looked at the starter.
Or do these starters have two little posts and one big one?
I'm sorry Christopher, I'm not trying to be "that guy" but for want of installing two threaded bushing spark plug hole inserts, you swapped the whole engine? Oh my....

seems to me that swapping the heads would have been easier... I think...
I wouldn't even do that when all that was needed was two of these:

I would have just replaced the heads but didn't have the money to buy the gaskets for them and the intake and exhaust manifolds so unfortunately I had to do that.

I didn't suggest replacing the heads. I opined that it would have been cheaper and easier if you had fixed the blown plug by installing a threaded aluminum bushing.
But like I said, I don't wanna be "that guy" and I think no matter how I post, I'm gonna come across that way.
Since I don't wanna rain on your thread brother, especially when I can't help with your problem, I'm gonna wish you luck and hope someone can post good help and tech for you.
