Well Mr. Nair, IMHO, a plasticized appearing truck that has a few too many gimmicks and I hope, for those who buy one, that Ford has resolve their aluminum pre-paint prep issues that have plagued them for several years.

Just like GM not much really changed here. Now the new Titan may see some major overhauling. We'll have to wait and see. But I for one don't see much that would sway someone to wait for this truck. Let's see some REAL revolutionary design in the F-250 series.

 

Well I love LEDs, I like the offroad display thing(they may have that now), I like the fact that it looks like a superduty, and I like aluminum body panels, I hate rust with a passion and would rather see the corrosion of aluminum on a vehicle than the nasty orange of rust. I would like to see more bed-cab combo options, i know that the 6.5 FT on my 2000 is as small as i possibly could go since i love my toolbox. The longest it appeared to be on the super/crew cabs was 5.5 and that is too short for me. I don't lik the sun roof, I have never found one that doesn't leak after 10 years, I don't like the way the back half of the super/crew cabs look, and i don't like how low to the ground even the 4x4s look.

All that said, I can't wait to potentially own one in ten years. I know that will be how long it will be before I could afford one.

I would like to see some numbers on towing and fuel efficiency, specifically by a third party. The Fast Lane hopefully will provide some insight when they can get their hands on one.

Oh, and who in Hades needs to open their tailgate with a button? Maybe if you redneck unload something you wouldn't even need to get out of the truck, but seriously.

 

WHAT???? Are you looking at the same truck I'm looking at? Everything is new. The frame, the body, the interior, the lights, badges, windows, even the materials that make up the body and frame is new. That is to the extent of it's use in a modern full size truck. Yeah I noticed the snowplow in the video as well. I also noticed that for the first time with the 5.5' bed you can get the side bed steps. Before they were only available with the 6.5 and 8' beds. Yeah it's just a minor cosmetic change. KEEP MOVING nothing to see hear. Not sure about the 3.5 N/A v6 though. I mean I love it in my 13 Taurus. But not sure about it in a truck though. I'm a little sad though as it looks like on FORD's website that the Kodiak brown won't be an option on the 15 truck.

 

Ford is currently working on the stamping process of the aluminum right now with Alcoa because the aluminum had been having a problem holding it's form during the stamping process. Military grade aluminum alloy is really good stuff, as it is very light, but yet strong. It's not like aluminum on the hoods or anything like that, it's more robust.

 

Yeah, but if you get into a fender bender, it's going to be INSANELY expensive to fix.

Because, aluminum can't really be pounded back into shape if it's bent once. It will break along the folding lines if it's duraluminum (aircraft grade, probably very similar to military grade).

Also, that stuff is pretty expensive. Hopefully, Ford has not just shot itself in the foot....
