Glad you are ok. Your truck took a real hit, but think what it would look like had you been driving a Dodge! Seriously, no one got hurt, and your truck will soon be good as new. I've been in the same situation.........rental vehicles suck. Good Luck!
Besides the grill, lower bumper, drivers head lamp assembly and possibly the driver's ender, what else was damaged? $7600?
The hood was tweaked, ac condenser, trans cooler were pushed into radiator. Front fender was messed up too. Tuxedo black paint plus all the brackets. This was the insurance estimate. Shop said it will be cheaper. I'll look at the estimate tomorrow and post back if there is anything else. At least the rental is good on gas lol
I didn't feel anything when I hit. Just a thud and then I saw the fog light swinging up the side of the truck. I didn't swerve or jam the breaks too hard either. I'll post pics the cowl induction hood tomorrow if I like it. The shop owner said it looks "sweet".
Wow, that's quite a hit! It surprises me that the insurance company was fighting with you on OEM parts.

See attached. We get what we pay for, insurance companies make very little profit from selling insurance. Everyone wants cheaper insurance, and at some point something has to give. That's not a scam.
Here in PA at least if your vehicle is 1 year old or has more then 10k on the clock the insurance companies write for either used or aftermarket parts. Although some write for aftermarket or used as soon as you sign the papers. Check your policies fine print very carefully. I had a Nissan Altima in my bay at work last spring that was a 13 with 600 miles and the insurance company wrote it for aftermarket and recondition used parts. Luckily our Nissan parts supplier was able to match the cost of the parts. Some they ate the parts difference, and others Nissan motor Co. price matched. Then the shop I was working in at the time was written up for not following the estimate as it was written. Since we were a direct repair shop for the insurance co. we were placed on notice. Saying that if we did this again we would lose their business. In the end though the customer was very pleased with the repair. A few months later his car was hit again and he returned for the second repair. Both times his car was legally parked when hit.

I should have taken the hood into consideration. The aluminum hood on my '04 Expy is over $1100 new, dealer cost and they usually can't be fixed.
Are you getting a different grill than what was on it? This is a cool time to customize.
I didnt expect there to be an argument about OEM parts since the truck is a 2012. But their policy is if its not a current model year they only allow for aftermarket. Thats the policy I agreed to and if I had read the fine print better, I'm sure I would have known it earlier. This is also my first insurance claim in my 11+ years of driving (doesnt really sound like much when I write it out lol). I'm over it and getting OEM parts anyways, so I am happy.
I thought about a different grille. I like the lariat grille a lot but also am quite fond of the grille that came the XLT chrome package (which I have). Ill keep thinking about it haha.
I tell my hunting buddies all the time that the best way to shoot a deer is to attach car lights, a horn and big, expensive bumper to the end of your rifle.
All the deer will come from miles around just to run into you.
Sub for pics of cowl hood. Haven't seen one on a newer f150
I will try get a pic later. I looked at it this morning and liked it. Its more of a subtle difference which I like. Do these have any actual benefit or are just for looks? I am gonna see if I can get a lariat grille and have the chrome (except for the mesh) painted tuxedo black to match the body.
