Information and photos regarding the 2015 have been released. These guys seem to have the most complete set of pix and slides...
DETROIT AUTO SHOW: The 2015 Ford F150 Has Been Unleashed

The exterior will take some getting used to - it's almost Tundra-ish in some ways. But the new interior is sharp.

Very nice, I'm curious to see what the aluminum construction does to pricing.

So we're gonna have a 3.5L N/A V6, a 2.7L EcoBoost, 3.5L EcoBoost, and a 5.0L V8. I think it's a good move to lose the 6.2L for the sure to be much more efficient 2.7L V6. Most people don't use the power of the current-gen EB and would like some better fuel economy.

Will be interesting what engines they allow with what body styles. That "baby" ecoboost could be an awesome option for Regular cab or 2wd trucks. I somehow don't think they'll be offering it in supercrew 4x4 models.

Also, that smaller engine will probably be capable of some incredible mileage, if you keep your foot out of it. Doesn't seem like current EgoBoost owners like to do that though.

Not crazy about the styling, but I never like new models. It'll grow on me.

I like it. Looks like they did a good job with it. I'm eager to see one in person when they make their way to the dealerships.

The rumors about the 2.7EB were 320HP/375lb-ft. That would put it almost identical to the 5.4 in the 2009-2010, but not all that far away from the 3.5EB at 365/420.

My 09 F150 is a SCrew 4x2... it's no speed demon, but it's not terrible. And I carry several hundred pounds of extra weight - front end replacement, commercial topper, gear inside. Shave 700lbs off of that and keep roughly the same power (with a flat torque curve) and the 2.7 would move along pretty nicely.

I'm thinking it will be very popular with fleet buyers, especially those who aren't pulling heavy trailers all the time.

nice to save up to 700 lbs, but until you have dealt with corrosion in aluminum you might not understand corrosion! I maintained helicopters for 18 years almost all in Arizona and have seen my share of corrosion, (I have formal training in corrosion control) companies I have worked for that are on coastal areas have entire hangars for tear down and replacement of corroded parts. these are multi-million dollar aircraft, and they cant stop corrosion, it will be interesting what will happen to these trucks in the rust belt, up north where roads are chemically treated for ice, and wet climates.

It is nice that it's lighter, but getting rid of the 6.2 is a mistake IMO. Or at least not replacing it with another V8 power house is a mistake. Like it or not, there are MANY current F-150 owners and future owners out there that do not want a V6 in their truck. Now those people only have one option, the 5.0... Plus, anyone who has dealt with turbo engines knows what that gets like once they get some miles on them.

The 5.0 runs pretty good, in fact I prefer it over the current Ecoboost, but if I was buying a new F-150 tomorrow, mine would have a 6.2 in it.

I also found the remote powered tailgate pretty funny. The idea is that your hands are full and you can't open the tailgate, so press this button on your key fob to open the tailgate. You have to empty one hand to do that.. You could have used that one empty hand to open the tailgate manually. LOL

Overall I like the truck, but I'm pretty mad about the loss of the 6.2. It had some pretty good potential IMO.

Looks more like a Super Duty than a weak Tundra. Hope Ford gets their act together with the EcoBoost and start fixing the problems with it before dropping it into this beast. I'd personally take a V8 over any turbocharged V6. Wish Ford would offer a diesel in this new generation and I hope they keep the Raptor.

They no longer have a 6.2 to put into a Raptor.. They'd probably put an Ecoboost in it. They're better you know. LOL

That's an insult to the Super Duty. Its gonna come down to whether you want a real truck or a grocery getter. Souped up V6's in the 1/2 ton are gonna be the preferred engine,, the fact they booted the 6.2L is an example. Next year I bet they get rid of the 5.0. Raptor may be next also. Its obvious the 1/2 ton is doomed for yuppyville!!

Yeah, them souped-up 6-bangers are for the birds, aren't they? Trying to make all that power by adding a turbocharger? I'm glad they only use big tough naturally-aspirated V8s in big heavy trucks.

Oh, wait.

Get over it - like it or not, with the increasing EPA fuel economy requirements, you're going to see more technology used to provide additional power when required and better fuel economy the rest of the time. I wouldn't be surprised to see an Ecoboost V8 replacing the 6.2 in the Super Duty some day.

Just FYI, my "souped up V6" was faster than every Super Duty up the hill at the OH meet last summer. That included a 6.2L V8, 6.8L V10, and 6.0L and 6.4L turbodiesels. We even waited until the hottest part of the day to see how she'd stand up to 90°+ heat towing nearly 50% over rated capacity.

Yup...definitely a yuppie truck.
