^Since the quote feature is currently not working...

So, I'll admit I'm a little slow on the uptake. Of course you need a tuner to be able to remove the DPF. But didn't I read a while back where H&S (and the other guys perhaps) were shut down by the EPA?

I've been watching all these threads go by "I'm deleted", "me too" and have been wondering where you guys are getting this programming.

My spaceship fell off last February when we had a week of -50C(-58F) temperatures without wind and my DEF ended up freezing. After it froze the truck started throwing codes and went an unusually long time without going into regen. So I got a little worried and before it left me stranded in those temperatures I decided to take matters into my own hands and hit a large enough bump to make it fall off

To the OP, if you find it too loud just add a 23" straight through diesel muffler in the middle of the delete pipe like I did. Nice and quiet at idle but puts out a great rumble with your foot in it.

H&S stopped selling tuners that enable you to delete the DPF. They are still in business. The only place that got "shut down" was Edge, and they are still in business, just got fined 500k.

There are a bunch of H&S tuners out there that are designed to work with the DPF in place. As others have mentioned, SPE can enable those "street" tuners to work without DPF.

That is what I am thinking to do. I'm yet to do any reasonable trip yet, to see if the noise is that annoying or not... but when I get to the stage of routing the exhaust on the outside of the chassis rail, I will put a muffler

Adrian, what did this change over set you back? Pipe and tuner both.

I bought the tuner (street tuner that was already delete enabled by SPE) off a user here for $950.
The pipe was an MBRP aluminized pipe (pretty much the cheapest I could find - as I plan on making some other exhaust changes in about 12months time) that I bought of ebay for $175
I also purchased the Sinister Diesel EGR delete (yet to be installed), not the cheapest but from what I have read, the best, also off ebay for ~$180.

Because of my location (CA), most places would not ship emissions delete related products to me unless I purchased them off ebay.

Meant to add - did a 150mile trip yesterday. Averaged 22.7mpg. 4x4 with 3.55 rear end and 20" wheels/tires. Mix of stop start, and 50-70mph highway through the Santa Monica hills.

I was light with my right foot, but still impressive.

Adrian,

You gotta change your picture from the old 350 to the new 250!

I haven't got a cool picture of the new F250 yet. I have a trip down to Baja Mexico planned with it in 3 weeks, so hopefully then (where the pic of the F350 was taken)

I couldn't believe how heavy it was, defiantly need to pull the exhaust hangers off and two people made it easier. I went with the spartan tuner, and mines a little loud for me, but you can't hear it from in the cab.

So are the tuners compatible with any truck of the same year?
I guess certain other options between the trucks would have to be the same as well?
I thought these tuners were all made for each individual vehicle.

The H&S tuner has an unlock code specific to your VIN number when you register it but it would cover the 2011 to 2013,14 etc. with 6.7L as an example. It covers multiple years where the powertrain is the same, it doesn't matter what options you have.
