I recently exchanged my lifetime pump from autozone for the second time in two years, and this third one licked at the back,so took it back got my money and went to o'reilly's,The first two licked, third did not work at all,All of this from difrent stores, so I called napa and their pump is like $15 more, and its made by the same company A 1 CARDONE that makes them for AUTOZONE and O'REILLY'S,so went back and gave it another shot at o'reillys and it worked, its been three weeks no problem yet, so you figure it out rebuild your own or gamble for a good one.

Yea I was afraid of that. Guess I will take mine apart and see how bad it is then decide. Thanks!
There's a place in San Diego that does really good quality rebuilds. I've dealt with them before on non-Ford steering boxes, and they do a good job. Here's a link directly to the page for the pump:

I suspect that it would be a much better item than the A-1 Cardone pump.
Thanks for the link but I've decided to try a saginaw pump. I already have one so I thought I would give it a shot. Picked up a mount for the pump off 79 econoline yesterday. It will have to be mod. but does not too difficult to work with.
I found a company that would rebuilt according to its needs. They had the parts for a complete rebuilt if needed, cost was around 100.00. If I hadn't decided to do a saginaw I would have gone that route.
Ford P/S pump is the same 1966/77 F100/350, 1978/79 is different.
There's no FE/Saginaw P/S pump mounting bracket, so it'll have to be fabbed.
Saginaw P/S pump (resembles a canned ham): 1972/79 FoMoCo Passenger Cars with Hydro-Boost, 1975/91 Econoline.
I got a mount off a 79 econoline I'am going to fab up today. The saginaw pump I have has a bigger pulley on then thompson pump. I can get a pulley off the econoline which is closer in size to the thompson pump. Anyone know if the bigger pulley be a problem, pressure?
The pulley on the sag. is for a dual belt A/C system.

Bigger pulley is just to slow the pump shaft down. Pumping less.
