I used seam sealer on the bottom today. Patched the last hole. Now I'm sanding the rest of the cab inside. The weather is good for work but not paint so much. We get lots of wind. So my goal is to have everything ready for a calm day and primer the inside and then painting black on the firewall and bottom of the out side cab.
Isn't it funny how everyone else knows what you should do or don't do!

Looks good at any rate.

I primered the inside but did not get all of it. the wind is getting bad and there is rain on the way next week. Im tired of sanding off surface rust. I will put on a few more coats of primer to get a god base to sand.

I have also replace 2 of 6 bushings on the rear springs. Man that is a pain to get them out. My rear end should be ready to put back together next week. Im waiting on parts.. I have a shipment on the way but LMC put it on a truck as it has all the new glass in it too. free shipping saved me about 200$ I would have more done but it has been a week of fixing other stuff.

Wow, you're doing everything I'm doing to mine right now. Looks fantastic!

Question: How did you make certain the height of the cab to the frame is correct with your new pans? Also how did you brace the cab when cutting out the pans? Thanks in Adv

Do you plan on undercoating the floor area? Makes good sound deading and water proofing as well.

Floor pans and cutting metal

Did you buy your floor pans or just cut them out of sheet metal? What did you use to get the nice cut on the metal parts you fabricated? Plasma?

Thanks

All i did was cut out the old metal and weld in the new. The body mounts were left in place or marked and welded back in the same spot. the cab was firm and did not flex. I did the pans with the cab still on the frame then removed the cab to fin tune.

I picked up the sheet metal and cut it with a cutoff wheel. I used cardbord to make a template . just lay down and start welding and hammering to fit.

I'm not sure yet. I may have it done with the bed or buy the kit and do it myself.

Have any pictures of your finished front cab corners? I remember there were pretty chewed up and now look near OE. Good work!
