Well I'm going to start a new project. I'm not sure where to go with it yet. I will start on rust and body for now. It has a good patina but I'm not thrilled about the yellow.Name: t9_zpsf4185cd1.jpg

I need floor pans but I see only one place that sells them for $300.00 the pans are rusted but not beyond repair just seems easier to replace them. Anyone know of anyone selling them beside LMC?
Mt ideas are to paint matt black on the bottom and matt silver on the top. lower it 4'' low cost not going crazy. larger rims, disk brakes and I need a drive train with great power. I want to smoke the tires. leather bucket seats or bench. Any ideas?

As usual, I'm with Spurredon. Another silver/black fridge truck with 4" drop and 22" wheels with tiny tires. Yawn. But I'm 60 years old and set in my ways and an old opinionated *******. We are all building or driving ours just the way we like them and you should too. I just couldn't keep my mouth shut. My .02 cents.

Its ok. I like all feed back. I did not know it was over used. I usually paint my toys OD green and Sand. Make military look. I'm a back yard painter so I need to keep it with in my abilities. I kind of like a crazy green too. I'm not doing 22 rims just larger than stock.

Looks like a great truck to start with! You'll be hard pressed to find a more helpful forum IMHO.

I started deconstruction today. What a pain in the azz to remove all the bolts that hold the fender and grill. I will post now photos Monday. My kids say I should paint it lime green or zombie green. It may look cool. Im thinking of keeping the look fairly stock. just lots of power.

Lol put a gun mount in the back and you will have a zombie slaying machine hahaha. Here is an idea, paint it a flat or semi gloss black and do gloss lime green pin striping down the side or on the hood or something. Ive seen a few cars like that and they look amazing!

Also I cant wait to follow another 59 build

I like it!
My goal is to get this thing back on the road and not go all out on new parts on everything.
I have questions if anyone would like to answer. I use the search too but that pulls up so much other stuff.

The questions pertain to pulling off other trucks / cars.
1. I want to disk brakes. is there something that will adapt to the stock spindles and rear end?
2. the stock master is toast and will not work with disk. What power brake unit will work?
3. Is there room for the clutch master next to it?
4. does anyone have pick of bucket seats being used?
5. Did the truck come with turn signals? I don't see any.
6. what about type of radiator? I plan on pulling as many parts off a mustang when it comes to the engine. or would a Crown vic be better?

Never seen a drum brake wear through.

#1. Do you do any fabrication? If so, the Jaguar IFS is relatively inexpensive and will give you the disc brakes, power steering, a much better ride and lower your truck. Plenty of info on doing this install available too.

#5. Yes, they came with turn signals; the mechanism should be inside the ..... directly below the steering wheel. By the way, your wheel looks to be a 1960.

Great project truck.

been working on the truck. I pulled the front end off and started to prep the frame for paint. I also started working on the door. so much of the parts are worn out and the rest need cleaning and paint. The heater is rusted up so after some sanding and paint it looks good. I used hammer black paint that gives it a textured look to cover up the rust pitting. Name: IMAG0174_zpsqttuljwx.jpg

I have the bottom half almost ready for primer. I'm not a body guy but I did drywall for a long time. After pulling dents and hammering. I picked up a few books and sanding blocks.I want the doors to be really nice. as i will have a logo airbrushed on them. The rest of the truck will get sanded and body filler if needed. I'm with ya on the doors, driver's side especially. I won't be having anything airbrushed on, but I'll be opening and closing it on a daily basis. If it isn't perfect, it'll drive me crazy. And that's a short putt
