i was t-boned in my '98 expedition in 2010, the only thing that saved it was the great condition and low low miles. they replaced the door and rear QT panel. my guess is for about $4k and a good body man you could have it looking like new in a few weeks! mine only took 10 days start to finish.
i'm glad your safe thats what really matters!
for the door, put a 2x4 mid way down and get up close to the top where you can get some leverage and bend it back..chances it'll work!
I'd fix it too. I would think that that could be pulled and filled much easier and cheaper than replacing the quarter. Either way, I'd buy it back. If nothing else offer it up to someone on the forum instead of letting it go to auction. There's lots of folks like myself that would love to buy a car like that.
Yeow...
Glad you are OK!
Insurance totaled???
Less damage than mine had, Insurance totaled it.
would have salvaged but don't have the time to part out or repair.
I've been Ex shopping...
Best to you!
That's an easy fix. I had to replace similar components on my truck. You can get the entire rear quarter panel from ford of Europe $800ish if I remember. 2 used doors paint to match and plastic trim. The old rear quarter panel goes from the rear hatch to the windshield. Have to cut the old one out weld in the new one bondo prep then paint. Easy job.
