Pulled the front wheels off "Floyd" today and two of the lug bolts are completely thread stripped on one wheel and a lug bolt missing on the other wheel.
I pulled the drum off the wheel with the stripped threads and cannot see any way to replace the studs as they seem to be welded or in some other manner securely adhered to a plate on the back of the drum.
The stud that is missing has nothing behind it leading me to believe it may have broken and someone drilled it completely out.
So, friends, am I needing to buy a new drums or am I overlooking the fix possibility?
I looked on Speedway and the new drums they have do not come with lug bolts so thinking I am overlooking the obvious.
The drum and the hub in the center (with the lug studs attached) in most cases are two, separate parts. Meaning they should come apart from each other. The studs are pressed in the hub and held in place with serrations. They can be pressed out and replaced.
