Does anyone make . . . . . .

Does anyone make a battery relocated kit (like moving the battery behind the seat or something like that)? If not could it be done, (if you have ideas on how to relocate it please share)?

I need to know cause i am doing a engineering project (electrocharger-like a supercharger-that will fit any F series truck from 1980-1996) and if someone does make a relocater kit then it could save a tone of time effort on my part.

Summit Racing sells generic battery relocation kits. However there isn't enough room behind a seat in a regular cab truck (at least not with a bench seat). Plenty of other places to put it though...

Don't know what your objectives are, but a 5.0 - 5.8 takes a lot o air and to move that much with an electric fan takes a lot o horsepower... good luck.

Thanks that will save me a lot of time, money, and effort. Where is a good place to put it then? Where the battery goes is where i want to put that charger-it offers the best room.

I will be making a custom fan blade-its kinda like whawt you find in Combines, you the fan that hovers all the chaff and stufff over the concave (farmers you know what i'm talking about)-the hard part is getting the blade pitch the same on all blades, about 20 to 30 of them in a very small area. If the pitch is right and if i can get a cfm rating and psi (i want it at about 6-7psi). The motor i will be using will spin at 11,000rpm (angle ginder motor, just hope its durable enough) and combine that with the custom fan i think that it should produce enough air for the motor.

My guess for a good roomy location would be between the frame and bed side on the passenger side. That's where the 'contractor boxes' were on older F series trucks and they never put much of anything else there since then. I'd put a little shelf or bracket on the frame to hold the battery, ground it to the frame right there, and run a long cable to the stock solenoid location.

If it were me (and I'm really cheap) I'd just buy the battery platform, hold-downs and cables from wherever I get the best price, and wire everything to the new location. There's not much magic in relocating a battery, IMHO.

I'd be concerned about the length of the starter cable, though. Keep it as short as you can, rerouting it if necessary, and/or use a bigger gauge (smaller number) cable. That puppy has to carry a lot of amps, and you don't want to skimp on it.

I like Ziggy___'s idea where to put the battery. But another question, what do you do about those little wires, you know those little ones you find every so often, on each of the battery posts? Thats really what i am worried about cause i know you can get the longer battery cables but what about those little cables?

The wire that hook to the possitive post should reach over and can be hooked to the power side of the soliniod and the ones that might hook to the negative side can be grounded anywhere. if there is to many of the possitive ones you could get a little circuit block and hook them to that with a wire from the battery

Good luck

I was thinking that but i wasn't quite sure if you could hook the positive side to the solenoid or not but from what you said it sounds like it could.

Turbochargers and superchargers turn between 40000 and 150000 rpm.

Good luck.
