I've asked this question before but lost the thread.
I have my flatbed frame stripped of diamond plate, huge fairing, and sandblasted. The guy I bought the truck from has a portable mill so I plan on asking him to mill me rails and planks. Afterwards I plan on planing the rails and planks, as well as running the planks through the shaper, yesterday I did find a thread about routing the planks - I need to find that one again.
But I need the dimensions for the rails and planks. I do have the original rails, or whats left of them but they're dried out and rotted.

Aus 56, thanks that is my original post. So some of my answers are there. I'm using pine for the rails and planks, as well as the side stakes; my truck was built in Virginia so pine would be, I think, the right type of wood to use. I do have a ballpark idea on the dimensions of the rails and the width of the planks at 10" but I don't know the thickness of the planks. But thanks for finding my post - how did you do that?

Hi, glad to be of help. To search the site you need to use the advanced search page.
Near top of page, on the blue index line, click on search. A dropdown list will show, select advanced search.
On that page fill in any keywords applicable top left, user name if you know who posted something you are interested in.
Below that on the left you can select thread or post.
Next to that you can select the forum you wish to look at, eg this one.
Click search now and it will bring up a list of possibilities. Sometimes there are many to choose from, so you can use other options on the page to burrow in deeper I believe. There was a good post recently on using the search feature.
