I'm a firm believer in additives n anti-gel, however, I have to reiterate from a previous post: why not use a diesel ready additive? Fact of the matter is, 2 gallons of RUG (8 diesel and 2 RUG) is about $6 for every 10 gallons fuel. My 7.3 Excursion holds 44 gallons. Using RUG would cost me about $48 (2RUG x 4 x $6 yea i'm rounding for easy math). I submit, you can do a much better deal ($ and engine performance, and potential longevity) by using an additive approved for diesel. I use one to provide additional lubication as well as antigelling (about $4- $6 additive per tank).

I am part of the FTE family. No need to get upset when we simply disagree.

We agree on this point.

I use the most available additive there is. Where can you go that does not have RUG available?

That keeps the example easy to understand.
You can use up to 20% without ussue, that means
1/2 gallon RUG to 9 & 1/2 gallons diesel or
1 gallon RUG to 9 gallons diesel or
1 & 1/2 gallons RUG to 8 & 1/2 gallons diesel or
Any percentage that does not exceed 20 percent of RUG in your tank. The best percentage for your vehicle will vary, depending on your weather conditions.

Where can you buy a gallon of your additive for less than the price of a gallon of RUG?
RUG is also priced lower than diesel (where i live anyway.)

Your example makes it look like this is adding to the cost. Each gallon of Rug displaces a gallon of diesel.
It's one to one so you are not adding to the overal cost of the fuel. It may actually be a cheaper fill-up.

What is peace of mind worth to you in below freezing temperatures?

Use what you want.

In cold weather, neither my truck or RUG have let me down.

402k miles here on original injectors. You put RUG in my tank, you're going to be drinking the entire contents of the tank!

You would not know it.

I know it is an exaggerated overstatement(above) but, you would not let me have your expensive fuel, let alone allow me to drink it.

Lol..I guess you want to ignore the facts even though you said you understood the pros and cons. 5+5=10. That's something you can prove as you can prove using RUG in diesel engines causes damage.

This seems to be going in circles and getting nowhere. I doubt that any of us are willing to change our positions. We've all put the information on the table from our own perspectives and experiences, and I honestly don't see where talking the issue round and round will add anything of further benefit for any of us.
