good evening everyone
im green to the site as a member and im not real good at using it
i picked up an 02 ex value xlt with out the rear heat i was wondering if any of
you have installed it in a truck that never had it. i work at a scrap yard as a mechanic and will hopefully have a truck come in with the parts i need i would just like an idea of what it all entails. if any one was to have headliner out for some odd reason maybe you could snap a photo of the piping.

They made Ex's with no rear heat? Why? There is someone on here that posted a photo with the headliner completely out not too long ago. I will see if I can find the photo. I the conversation was actually about the rear hatch "door ajar" sensor and where it's located, so you might try searching those key words in the EX forum. If I find it will post it up for you.
I was not aware that this was possible to get an Ex without rear heat.
I doubt you find your answers here, as I would guess that it was either an odd option package or you have something that has been put that way on purpose.
Ok finally found the pic I was thinking of, was actually in a thread about a water leak not the door hatch. Not sure if this helps you at all but here it is....
Ask "pdombrowicki", he's currently converting a 2012 F 250 to an Excursion. He should know how/where to get parts and install the rear heat...
...yea, but he's using a donor Excursion (a pillar back) that already has the ducting, so he (pdombrowicki) may not be a source for the components superdave02f552 is looking for. He'll need stuff like the roof mounted controls, ducting that runs above the head liner, rear fan/ac tubing, etc.

Oh yea...models sold to municipalities, etc. didn't have rear heat/AC. The CHP SWAT Excursion I saw this summer didn't have it installed.

Building a 2012 excursion has pic of a fully gutted excursion

Thanks for the link to the photos just wanted an idea of what was where. I work in a junk yard and will hopefully see one soon for parts. The front seat is fine but it is a little chilly for the little ones in this super cold minnesota winter

Open one of the side back windows. It might pull more heat back there, probably best to do drivers side since exhaust is on pass side. The owners Manuel says to do that when the vehicle has been sitting in the sun. It says it helps cool it down quicker. It might work for heat also. Worth at shot till you get the heat installed.
