I have been thinking about adding a roof rack and basket to my F350. On the roof there are two rubber strips, one on each side of the cab. What are they for? I was hoping they were for mounting a rack. Don't really like the idea of the clamp on style the hook on the door edges. Any ideas?
I run a clamp on and have logged about 2200 miles with two canoes on it. I'm pretty particular about racks. The clamp on works for me because I can remove it when I want to and don't have to worry about leaks. It holds the canoes well and doesn't move around at all. I'm not sure what you mean by rubber strips on the cab...do you mean in the roof or at the door seals?
I had Thule roof rails on my old truck cab and camper shell. I installed them myself and they never leaked. Pretty easy install. You didn't even know they were there if the bars were not mounted on the truck.
Tough lookin' truck Savage, that is a sweet pic!
I am running the same Thule system on my shell, haven't had to use it yet, but I know it will come in handy on a few Boy Scout adventures this summer.
Thinking of adding a cargo rack to the top of the cab for the long loaded hauls to Lake Powell.
I don't think the seals you refer to are rubber Pauly, just part of the cab molding..?
What year is your truck Mpauly? I don't think those are even available on the '11 and up 6.7s. I remember them on my previous SuperDuty's, but not my current one.

Like the Thule cab rails LX, looks good
Thanks Scotty. My rack has been almost exclusively BSA used so far as well. A few trips paddling with just the family, but mainly with the Scouts.

That is a a great looking truck man! No leveling kit or am I missing it in your sig?

yeah...I guess I have too much crap on it. 2.5" with the snow plow prep package on it in the front. 3.5" blocks in the rear. 44 1/4" to fender wells on all 4 corners. Any higher and it screws up my towing of the 5th wheel. Thanks for the kind words...
