Does anyone have the weight of an 8' box off thease trucks?
Noo but if your wondering how many people it takes to lift it up... it took my dad @235 lbs and me @240 lbs to lift the bed off... little struggle to pickup high enough to get past my rear bumper but after that it was no problem...
If you are asking to figure out shipping cost, here is some advice when factoring weight. Have who ever is selling or shipping it to make a diagonal braced 2x4 frame and set the bed UPSIDE DOWN using the stake pocket holes as ways to secure it and prevent shipping damage.
And if you have to strap it, go across the fenderwells only and (front to tailgate direction) cause the sides will bend when a trucker straps it tight with a 3" wide strap anywhere else. I would build a complete box for what it is going to maybe cost you for a good bed and getting it shipped.
I have seen a few beds get messed up getting shipped right side up or by setting on a trailer on the bottom bed edge then strapped down for a trip.
Or a wooden sub frame the width of the truck frame and go that route?
If you are just curious about what a bed weighs and none of this applies, have a good one.
Thanks guys!
I was trying to figure out how much it weighed cause I'm thinking of doing a service body with a slide in camper. Trying to figure out how much to estamate weight wise on the rear end.
