Well I wasn't going to start a new thread until "we" were ready to put "Basket Case" (thanks Nate) together, but I didn't want to gum up anyone elses thread with my intro.
I am Bills(Rebilld) son. I recently bought a '96 PSD, reg cab. Its definately a project.... But luckily I have Bill (mainly his tools and garage...). I am hoping to learn alot more about these trucks by putting this one together, thus allowing me to hopefully be a contributer to this site and be able to work on my truck more efficiently. But if I cannot help much in the advice section of this forum, hopefully I can at least learn a few things, meet some people(some of which I don't look forward to after hearing some stories...) and share some laughs.
This will also turn into the "Build thread". I currently do not have any pictures of the truck (so kindly named "basket case" by I believe Nate). I think TyBragg has some, if he wants to post them on here he can. If not I will get some after the weather breaks and before we get started.
Okay now take it easy on me, after all its not my fault I am his son....
Welcome to the site! This is a great place to be if you're wanting to learn some things about these trucks. There are a lot of really great guys here to learn from and it sounds like you know one of the best ones rather well already! Good luck with the project. These trucks are a lot of fun to wrench on.
welcome. I've had a lot of help from this forum with my first OBS.
I've been able to successfully swap a fuel bowl, swap a rear pinion yoke, replace a radiator support, install some bucket seats, build a console, swap a transmission, install a new clutch, swap a steering gearbox, 6637 filter, and do some ujoints. No way I could have done all that without the help and Bill and others here! You will learn all kinds of stuff I'm sure. I know I have!
Welcome to the family! You will start to learn little by little. I didn't know much a few years ago but now I'm good at what I do and own 3 7.3 psd's! You will learn to and sounds like u got a good teacher. Rebilld does this mean u have more family coming to rre with ya?

Maybe.....If we can get his junk running by then! Seriously though, it shouldn't be too bad. The truck only has 160k on it, and the engine was on a stand, so I got a good look at it. It is pretty clean. Best I can tell all the parts are there, and what isn't, I should have.
Welcome to the site! You will learn much here. Unfortunately I can only go off I hear say (*COUGH Alex *cough cough lol) as far as stories go. Looking forward to watching your progress.
