Winter has hit, and my front oil seal has started leaking! Is this a hard item to change? Somebody said pull the engine to do it? Any body got a good repair manual on these old trucks? Mine is a crudy manual that shows all about the gas version, but hardly crap about the diesel. Truck is a 95 F350 4x4 7.3. Also having some starting issues, so a diesel manual would help with this. Thanks fellas.

Reverse for install. About a 2 hour job if you have several beer brakes
what're "beer brakes"? are they special brakes you can install for stopping at the bar for beer breaks? :-)
sorry, Brad - I couldn't help myself!!
on a more constructive note - is the special installer tool stated in the manual actually required, or will a dull punch (or similar) work fine if used carefully?
is that all it is? is it the rear seal that needs a tool? I've never done one, but have one on the to-do list (though I forget if its the front or rear leaking now) and I thought I remembered reading about a seal driver tool in the manual...
maybe it was one too many beer brakes that day and I imagined it.
(and c'mon, that beer brake typo was funny! ...at least the funniest thing I've read today on this boring Monday)

I think ANY seal I have installed called for a special tool, you just have to improvise. I have put in over 100 seals and yet to have one fail.
