HD 4R100

I Need to know which one I own. My Ford service part number on my transmission is 1C3Z7V000EBRM. I have a Ford heavy duty 4R100 application chart, that clearly states this part number titled as (Regular Duty Service Part Number Ford Brand). It than lists regular duty Motorcraft #===Motorcraft HD part#===& Motorcraft HD trim number. It also shows this part number being from a 2001,2002,2003,F250,350,450,550, Ford Excursion. The chart is confusing to read. I wish I could post it, but cant yet.

Please help confirm wether I own an HD 4R100,,,,,,or a Reg.duty 4R100. I bought this transmission used and was told it was an HD. I have spoke to 3 local Ford dealers, and connate get a clear answer. ANY INFO WOULD HELP!

This chart. 4r100hdapplicationschart.pdf (minimize the note box, if it pops up, to see the chart better. I added a notation) The HD service part numbers look to all start with a 6U.... or 7U....
Yours appears to be the Regular Duty.

I searched for the HD part # but can't find it. I also looked at the two Ford online dealers, and they don't list it. Some guys here have them though and should be able to come up with it. Tugly has one, and may see this and respond. This post will at least bump you up and get you some help.

Thanks for posting the application chart mueckster. That is the chart I have. What is throwing me off is that all the part numbers are behind the horizontal row titled HD4R100 Family. I also have ford dealers telling me it is, and it isn't. At this point in time the trans seems to be a gear behind. It always feels like a drag on my rig. it does get through all gears, but feels out of sync with engine RPM. I can pop it into neutral while in all gears and it feels like the rig losses 4000 lbs.
My goal is to end up in an HD 4R100. So once I figure out what I have, ill go from there. I am currently towing with this tranny. My last trip to the scales put me @ approx. 23000 lbs. My trailer weight usually weighs between 9500 lbs. to 10500 lbs. This tranny was installed about a year ago by a buddy that owed me some money, and I recently found out that it has DEX/MERC Valvoline in it. So I am changing the filter and fluid to MERC 5 tomorrow. I don't know if I did damage to it towing approx. 20K miles with that fluid. I never questioned whether it was an HD or not, because I had to buy and install so much bigger of a slip yoke. I also had to have my local mechanic get it to run with a speedometer signal multiplier of some sort. It would not run with out it. So to make a long story bearable, if I could go back in time, I would have been this thorough before the install. But I had no options at the time, and not much is different now. So don't beat me up to bad, LOL.
FYI, a Ford rep is telling me DEX/MERC is fine to run in the 4R100 as long as it says MERC on it. That's not what I am gathering on the inner web.
The tranny is getting done on my budget for now, so I have to milk it. But my questions to guys are.
#1 Trans cooler options (Mark says 6.0 trans cooler)
#2 HD trans kit options (to have my original trans built, it was towing when I took it out, showing metal larger than u like to see, and almost no reverse)
#3 should I chip this truck to tow
#4 who's going to tell me I need a bigger boat, LOL
#5 any info at all (it is impossible to over communicate)

I cant post a signature yet=2000-E350-16'box-7.3PS

There's a heart icon in the title bar of every post. Click on that heart icon and a pop-up window appears and you can give rep points to a person for helping.

In the tech forums people will get them for helpful posts. In the non-tech forums people get them for their voiced opinions or because they've posted a funny joke.

Get enough points and you start accruing those little green boxes uner your post count total.

Yes on the 6.0 cooler. Not sure why you had to buy a bigger yoke? HD4r100 is a direct bolt in replacement. Chipping opens a whole new set of questions and concerns.

My understanding is that if you let a Ford dealer install the HD4R100 transmission, your 3 year 100K mile warranty will be on both parts and labor.
On the other hand, if you just buy the HD4R100 transmission, the 3 year warranty will apply to the parts only.

Someone please correct the foregoing if it is in error.

The slip yoke on my original 2000 4R100, was smaller than the 1350 Series 31 spline Slip Yoke I had to purchase to fit the bigger tail shaft and housing for the transmission I am running now. The 1 in question

The 6.0 cooler to a truck is different than the 6.0 cooler to a van.

I have an E350 also, and I think the job will require more than just plumbing fittings to retrofit the popular 31 row truck cooler into the van front.

The attachment flanges and mounting locations are way different.
