I did notice a fuel leak yesterday on the passenger side of the fuel bowl I fix the fuel leak by making my own rubber gasket for the fuel line and after that I think there was too much pressure in the fuel bowl and it blew my old ring out I have an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator spring
I know when the fuel bowl heater shorts out & blows the fuse the computer will lose power as well.
Is your WTS light working and does the tach move while cranking?
Does the fuse still short? If so, what number fuse is it? Are there any other fuses that have shorted? Did you check every one including the enteral junction box under the hood? Does the Wait to Start indicator illuminate when the key is in the on position?
If you made your own gasket, its possible its not getting fuel to the injectors. The fuel cap must be screwed all-the-way-down to so the filter depress the bottom valve in the fuel bowl. - Get a new (or the one you had prior) and install it.
yes wait till late start come on but still sputters when it tries to start I can't figure this out I drove it all the way home from my buddys shop after I fix the gasket and had no fuel leak the filter Bowl is filling up with fuel but I can't seem to get it to start it sputters and white smoke comes out my stack but wont start
the fuse that cup blowing is the fuse for the day fuel heater which I have unplugged and I am about to take the fuel line up now to see if there is any blockage but I don't see how it could have broken up and gotten in the fuel bowl because the piece that I had to make is on the outside of the fuel line
Make sure you are replacing with the correct amp fuse. I believe it is a 30amp. Also, make sure your bowl is full of fuel if you have emptied it. It might take a couple of cycles to fill the bowl.
now for some reason I'm not getting fuel to my filter Bowl I sucked fuel from before the pump and got fuel and it filled up the pump and filled up the fuel bowl but now I'm not sure if I'm getting fuel through the pump to the bowl everything seems clean and clear. Could i be sucking air or something?
Do you know for sure that the fuel pump is running? The sound of the vacuum pump will drown it out. Have someone cycle your key with your hand on the pump. Is your fuel filter in the bowl? There is a check valve in the bowl that will not let fuel in unless there is a filter in place, lid on.
Open you fuel dump valve and cycle the key to check fuel flow to the bowl.
Make sure your batteries are fully charged, if you've been cranking a lot trying to start the truck your batts may be low. I believe under 10.5 volts the injectors wont fire.
