john the truck couldn't go any further back due to where the tiedowns were on it and I didn't drive it because it was a 5 hour drive at night through the mountains that and they have a bit of snow on the road and it was just safer to tow it on my truck that I new was reliable fyi the tow vehicle has a leveling kit and the truck was squatted down to the factory overloads
Hey that gives a little different perspective from your original post. I know you have hauled more trucks than me, I just wanted to share a little trick that I had learned along the way. I try to load the truck until the rear of my truck dropped no more than 2" and believe it drives better with a balanced load on the trailer.
I recall in the last couple three years seeing a couple guys in a fairly modern truck with a trailer loaded with a fairly modern truck and it's wheels against the front rail and the rear bumper almost dragging the ground. About 40 mph is as fast as they could go, or it was woggoling all over.
I was thinking if the rig was further back on the trailer and all the tires aired up they could go much faster.
Just curious to know what type of brake booster and master cylinder that is.My 68 is non power brakes and I have a Crown Vic front with an Explorer rear. So I have disc all the way around. Thanks
I am not sure on the master and booster they were on the truck when I picked it up and the p/o didn't speak that good of English and my Spanish is terrible
it lives finally after a few months of tinkering here and there trying to pick up parts when I can and trying to figure out the p/o hacking it lives so nice to hear it run for the first time and to hear it scream
wow 2 years and a day to the day I first got it running and I am finally pulling it apart and starting my crown vic swap. Would love to share pics of the process but cant remember for the life of me how to upload them I have a photobook
