Carlene said,

BTW - I am a Dem, don't know if I'm a Liberal, (need your help here 1997),

You got it Carlene. Here is the political compass. Answer the questions honestly and you will be surprised. Most people are using the terms Liberal, Conservative, Democrat and Republican are using them as insults.

Most all of us are Centrists, which means we disagree on this or that, but we are all in this USA for the best USA we can have.

I think the politicians (all of them) are the worst citizens in this country, bar none.

(Boy, I am outspoken ain't I?) Please comment if you are surprised at your political compass point, most are.

I'm not liberal, Thank God for that small mercy. Nor am I a leftist. I am however thankful that I am who I thought I was.

I was/am betting that most people would be surprised how close they are to the center. (all of us) There is a theory about 'soiling the nest' and it basically says that only a mental defect or the inability to choose will allow us to lay where we defecate.

Babies cry for Mom to change that diaper, crazy people don't even care. If you are wondering about hidden cells that want to destroy this country from within, this isn't their nest.

How does this apply? I don't think anyone on this list is soiling the nest, trying to destroy this country. We all want a great North America, we disagree about how to get there, the same as we disagree about spanking children, WMD, executing criminals, public schools, segregation, welfare and a few hundred other things. We often see passion for an idea that we don't agree with and misinterpret it as 'They are killing my beloved country'

Passion is good, brain dead is the alternative. I value the people that will show me the other side.

In case you are wondering, I am almost half way between a centrist and Pope John Paul II, 1956MarkII seems to be all alone in his own blank square

The test pretty much confirmed what I thought about my political standing. I came in about the same as President Bush. That is a pretty good test though.

I was virtually dead center on both graphs, which is more or less what I was expecting. I had a hard time choosing what to click on some items based on the wording of the topic. I agree with Dems, Repubs, Libs, etc. on certain topics only but I don't feel that I truly have a party the 'mostly' represents me as a constituent. Oh well. I guess I'll continue to vote for the 2nd amendment.

Say it ain't so!

I came out closer to Jean Chretien than anyone else!

A little more libertarian than JC, (toward the Dalai Lama) but other than that, almost identical.

If JC and I are so close in "ideology" then why don't I agree with anything that buffoon does? I think I am naturally a Liberal Party supporter, the problem is, the Liberal party has moved over into the NDP turf on social programs and Federal authority. (note: "liberal" not used in the US sense of the word)

Interesting test, though I'm not sure what the answer really means. I guess it does show that I'm pretty close to the middle, and I've always been told that I have "problems with authority".

I'm not surprised that Bush is so far to the authoritarian right.
I might play around with the questions to see just how you'd have to answer to end up there.

It'd be interesting to see where Clinton and some of our other Canadian party leaders would plot.

Dono,

It would appear that you and I are pretty much peas in a pod, I was only 2 clicks libertarian though.

How do you like that?

Interesting Dennis, I don't know anyone that dislikes Jean Chretien more than you do, and yet your "political beliefs" are near identical. Go Figure.

It'll be interesting to see how Canada vs. the USA plots.

Ahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Economic Left/Right: -1.00
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -2.46

When did I become a left/libertarian?

I consider myself generally conservative, but according to this test, I'm a bit to the left. Just a hair.

I think what throws me left, is 2 things:

1. I would legalize recreational drugs, to improve quality control reduce, addiction and use the funds to support more necessary medical research. Tax these like Cigs and beer, think of the revenue. Naturally, any negligence for those under the influence would have be dealt with with serious repurcussions. (Just as a side note, I have never used any recreational drugs. It's true) Now, beer is a different story.

2. I don't believe that we should intentionally kill any person that has the physical and mental capacity to work and contribute. Put these thugs to work. Surely, there is something they can do. Especially considering the conveniences of technology.

I think my mid-life crisis is rearing it's ugly head in my political analysis :-)
