Help no WTS light !

I bought 1999 ford f250 7.3 a week ago. Yesterday I was on my way to work ( 20-30 after starting truck) and it just died. Was running like a top before this. I've changed the glow plug relay, relay 30 in the fuse box, the fuel filter, tried unplugging the fuel heater and nothing has worked. I also changed a censor under the truck that would cause the tackometer not to work ( neither the tackometer or the WTS light are working). I checked the oil late last night an noticed that it is low ( it was recently changed and fine). Could this ICP be the problem? If so how do I go about changing it?? Please any help would be greatly appreciated! Also new to Diesel engines :/.

Check the fuses, including the large maxi fuses.

I've checked all fuses as replaced the big black ones ( maxi fuses). Still no WTS light and tackometer isn't working. Truck will not start. Read something about the ICP sensor and oil , noticed some oil leaking where there hasn't been any in the past.

Did u check both fuse panels, under the hood & in the cab? No wait to start usually points to the PCM not working, there is a fuse under the hood & one under the dash that power the PCM.

Can't remember the fuse number under the dash but do know it is directly tied in with the fuel bowl heater. Powers that & the PCM so if that fuse is blowen then u most likely have a shorted fuel bowl heater.

Ok fuse 30 was bad. Getting a new one now. Gonna test it wen I get back home. If the heater is bad where do I go from there? You guys are life savers!

For now you can leave the heater unplugged with no issues except the water in fuel light won't work if you get water in the fuel bowl. I replaced my heater with the revised version from the later model trucks. I got it from Clay at Riffraff diesel for about 40 bucks.

It worked !!! It's getting in the single digits here tonight. Should I worry about the heater till I can get it replaced? You're a life saver ! Thank you do much!

I wouldn't worry, I live in northern MN & we have been dealing with temps in the -30 range for the last 4 weeks & my heater has been removed for the last year. Never have been able to get a clear answer on what the exact purpose of the fuel bowl heater is but my truck starts & runs just fine without one.

Thank you for the info. Now I've got another problem. Took it out to drive after gettin it running and the brakes are making a buzzing noise when I push on them and it's sputtering. Any ideas. It was running great before the fuse blew.

The brakes r sputtering or the truck itself is sputtering? Buzzing noise from the brakes could be an ABS issue. Back track all your fuses again & make sure all r good & in the right place. I accidently put my airbag fuse in the wrong slot while checking fuses once & took 2 days of farting around before I found my mistake & got my airbag light to go out lol.
