I have a 76 f100 with a 302 and a 2bbl. I was wondering what would be the best plugs to run in it. I currently have ngk v-power plugs in there but I'm on my second set in 6 months. Not to mention but i had to clean then about once a month. They foul out real easy and my carb is adjusted right so i know I'm not getting to much gas. Any pointers?
Sounds like spark is still too weak IF you do have carb as lean as you can get it. Make sure you have a good 12v wire to you new ignition parts you said you installed in the other thread. Even better to give it its own 30amp relay from battery with key on. BTW what did you replace? As far as spark plugs are concerned Motorcraft are best to go with. NGK's I like too, they are good quality vs many others and would use as 2nd choice in a Ford but #1 in an import.
I replaced everthing thing for ignition. The stock coil has to be ran off of a resistor so you don't blow the whole system. Whenever i pull a plug and test it, it has a bright purple to blue spark. I can run it for about ten minutes and pull one out and it will be black. I think i read on the spark plug box that they are a resistor type plug. I wonder if i could get plugs that don't drop the voltage that is going to them.
Autolite 26's gapped to .044 for the DSII ignition have worked well for me. I have never found a need for any specialty plugs. Base timing set to 10-12*BTDC. If your plugs are coming out oily, it may be time to look for other issues. Removing carbon buildup on the valves and combustion chamber by running a can of Seafoam through it wouldn't hurt.

Resistor plugs are to limit the radio interference. Is the foulng from fuel, or is it from oil ?
