Sounds like me and my brother.
We're always sending each other links saying "you don't have a hair on your azz if you don't buy this".

Lol. He thought he let me know since I need one for my 78 150. But that would kill me in shipping. And being laid off right now I really don't have that kind of money to spend either. I just hope someone can use it. I know it's too long for you to use on your 74 Lol.

North Hollywood California item # 111107097412 it's a little pricy the last I checked 600. But for around here that's still reasonable.

I wouldn't sell one that cheap! Last two I've bought were upwards of a grand & both needed work

I say that because the driver side bedside is in need of repair. And some on here claim to have bought pretty nice trucks for less then the cost of that bed. To me that price was still reasonable but with being out of work right I don't have the cash for it plus shipping. So I figure do the next best thing. Try to link it here and hopefully someone else could put it to good use.

Here is what I gave away for 400.... I'll never make that mistake again.

Twin gas flaps, dent and race trac chrome and xlt tailgate that opened better than anything I own. Had one spot of 1x3 of repair needed on the passenger side wheel well.

Normally the trim sells faster than the boxes do. Last short box I had I bought just for the trim. Lol. That craps a PIA to put back on when the pegs are gone

I remember back in the 90's beds for our trucks sold in my area for 1,000-1,500 then. Everybody said that's crazy, they want way too much. And at those prices any trim on the bed was considered a bonus as well. Now these beds are almost impossible to find. And back around 93-94 I think it was I found one for my dads 77 in the local penny saver for $300. Showed the add to dad he said no way too much. Then about 2 hours later he calls the guy selling it, went to look at it completely rust free bed. the reason the guy was selling it was he totaled the 79 4x4 it was on while driving drunk. My old man whipped the cash out faster then you could sneeze got home and complained he paid twice what it was worth. I said really? Could you get and a/m replacement bed for the truck any cheaper? He didn't know what to say. I still use that argument to this day when someone that about finding one of these in decent to nice shape for that price. Shuts them up every time.

When people give me a hard time about my asking price for a good box I tell them to take their box in for a estimate on what it would cost them to have their box redone & wait for the call saying they'll take my box.

Alot of people want something for nothing......or want to pay a whole alot less that what its worth. You are in the parts business, you know.

Especially for none reproduced parts OEM parts.

Yeah lots of tire kickers & lowballers. I just ignore them & move on down the list.
