ok, so I got my shift selector and tranny in-sync and now I have no problem getting into any gear I want to get into, I also don't have to jam my shifter into park to get it to turn over and I can now start my truck in neutral which I never could before. also whent into 1st and 2nd gear using the shifter which ive never done before (couldn't find them).

I still havnt gone into fixing my hard and high shift problem because I don't really know what im doing, so if anyone can give me some help thatd be great. what I do know is the thing on the back of my tranny had a tiny bit of oil in it when I pulled the hose off and apparently that's bad.

if you pulled the line off the modulator and got oil out of it, the modulator is bad and need replacing. it will not shift properly until that is replaced.

nope. easy to remove. it has a little clamp holding it in, sorta like an old time gas engine distributor.
just watch for the little metal rod, it may come out with the old modulator. if it does, you need to put it back in with the new one, or the trans will not shift properly.

So when I remove the hose off of it if there s oil coming out of the hose then that means modulators gone? I will go under the truck today and re check it, last time I pulled the hose off if I remember right there was just a small bead of oil on the modulator, does that still mean it's broken?

usually yes if there is trans fluid in the line it is sucking through the modulator.

Ok thanks for the quick response, I just wanted ti confirm that it's broken cuz I've read on other threads where people pull the line off and tranny fluid pours out, where as mine there is just 1 tiny bread of atf

it could just be starting to leak. it may stay like that for years, or start leaking so bad it will fill your vacuum system with ATF in ten minutes.

i figure they are cheap enough, why take chances.
