Radio problems

Ok guys, here is one for ya, 2 days ago it rained for about 24 hours from heavy to a drizzle, yesterday my check engine light came on and the code reader said po5oo, no big its the VSS, this morning I go to the gym just fine when I come out my anti theft is active and I cant start my EX, have the sequence to reset so not a big deal, here is the WTF moment, my stereo only works in park or neutral this happened this morning. When I put her in drive it shuts off the sound completley or has an AM radio type of static.
My EX is a 2000 4wd 6.8 xlt, everything is factory on her including the am/fm/cd/cassette player. any magical words of wisdom?? Thanks guys

I think you windshield leaked to the VSS causing it to short out. I had a similar problem but I think mine was the PMS ?? Search some of my old posts. It took the dealer 2 weeks to figure it out and that was with my detailed analysis and telling them what I researched. Good luck, I think this is a dealer repair. I did it in the summer when I could drive the Mustang.
