Thanks Glenn! I'm pretty excited. I was telling Aaron that I hope I didn't get in over my head. Lol. Yeah I actually got the manual with it! I was poking through it and it actually listed a procedure for cleaning the water system. Yeah I'm curious about the tanks as well. We will see! The po said it was winterized. But I want to see for myself.
Yeeeaaahhhhh Thomas! Way da go! I am a little jealous I must admit! I love our newer one, but that thing looks cool and I like taking something old and giving it life again. Congrats dude!!
My 5er is 34'. We are slowly looking for another one but I don't know if it will happen. We have gone on a couple of plant tours and one thing has stuck with me. At DRV Mobile Suites factory tour the guy said, "we design these for 6.2 earthquakes"! I laughed out loud. I think mine has been thru 9.9's, these roads are horrible!!! If your not dodging pot holes your jamming on the brakes because some AH slammed on the brakes in front of you!! Luckly the other day I looked down and my brake controller was dark, no lights. I was going 70 mph and about shi!. I reached down and the plug in on the rear was loose. I zipped tied it and has been working but I called the Tekonsha and they are sending me a new plug and pigtail. Always fun!
I don't see us getting there in time unless we leave by 5am...drive fast..and have nothing go wrong. Also.I have my phone back .everybody text me so I can save your number...all was lost on the old one..
I'd be ok with leaving early lol. As for the not-breaking-down part... It'll be me if anyone lol

opps, got carried away!
Haha no problem Glenn! And thanks for the info on the water system. Definatly on the list. That bites about your controller. I think mine is that same brand. Seems to work ok.

Thanks Todd! Yeah I wanted a 5er too. But they are either beat to heck or gold plated price wise. At least around here. Some day I'll have a 5er.
+1 congrats Thomas. Also check the springs, bushings, tanden and brakes when you are in there, with the bearings and tires, OK? and check that the brake controller is working with the trailer.
Oh and after seeing the schedule posted and Clay is doing this Saturday fairgrounds deal now(Im excited BTW!). That leaves Saturday evening open for food options. In the past Saturday dinner was covered by a sponsor IIRC.
It says there will be concessions at the fairgrounds which I'm sure I will eat a sandwhich there...and a funnel cake, a snowcone, and cotton candy if available.
But as for dinner perhaps we can plan something for back at the campgrounds?
Anyone want to get a potluck dealio going for Saturday evening at the campgrounds?!
I understand we already will be part of a potluck the other night...but still.
I just recently finished my UDS (Ugly Drum Smoker or Upright Drum Smoker) and ran my first set of Pork Shoulders through it this past weekend.
I believe Doug is planning on making one as well and Todd has experience in BBQ.
Im all 'hopped up on the Q' and would love to do BBQ Saturday.
I'm game for whatever. I'd rather not buy concessions for 5 people, especially the way my kids can eat. That has a tendency to get pricy quick. The county fair more or less wipes me out, lol.
I'm actually thinking about getting another camper, but not a 5th wheel. 5ers are great on room and easy to pull but they just get terrible fuel mileage. I'd like to have a bumper pull for the long trips (i.e. RRE lol)
Honestly.the potluck was packed last year.no places to sit even if your drink was sitting there.an alternative for our group might not be a terrible idea.I will bring all the drinking plates lol
Everybody just bring chairs drinks and a side and we maybe pitch in for the meat maybe?
