Brake Problem

This is on my 1991 F250 4x4, 300ci 6 cyl, air, ZF tranny. Well I backed a trailer into a dump pile to get rid of tree limbs. Wasn't in far enough to snag a brake line. Yet when I did, the brake pedal went to the floor. Didn't do anything weird, just hauled 2 loads of limbs on a trailer. Got out and the master cylinder was nearly dry. Filled it and got back in, pumped it a few times. I can hear rushing air when I pump the pedal. Cylinder was again nearly dry. Cannot see any leak anywhere.

I assume that it's the master cylinder and since I cannot see any leak, that it's going into the vacuum booster. Ideas? How can I easily check that?

Thanks
Carlos

Have a look inside the cab right into the firewall where the brake pedal goes to the booster. You may find brake fluid there which will answer your question. I have seen this many times on the Ford. Just curious....which side of the master is going down? The large one or small one?

The big side is nearly dry and the little side sure doesn't look like it's got much in it. I might have enough brakes to stop the truck from 3 or 5 mph, but that's being optimistic. I try to look tonight and see if I can detect anything in the cab. There's got to be about 2 pints of fluid somewhere.
