Wheel tubs

What exactly are these? My new 2014 has only a "hat" over the rear wheel and I am constantly cleaning mud out from the rear area all the way to the bed. There is not any undercoating of any kind that I can see and am worried that mud left sitting in these areas would eventually lead to rust. I thought per the sale brochure that the rear wheel tubs only covered the area from the "top hat" of the wheel area down between the chassis and the wheel itself? I do have a B&W goose neck hitch and would need to allow for that.

I just bought a pair for my 2014 SD, I am picking them up today. Whatever they cover is better than nothing at all. I had them on my F150 and seemed to be good. With winter kicking in I want them on now before the roads get salted..

Yeah, I am curious to see how easy they are to install. they said you can install w/o removing tire. I will let you know on the install and if they cover well.

Just brought the wheel liners home. Of course the directions are nothing but pics and illustrations no instructions..But it appears you got to take off the small plastic liner in there first, then start the install process, seems there are clips,screw/clips and push pin clips. I was gonna start but its getting dark and rain/snow on the way..i'll wait for the next sunny day to start. I'll clean it all out first and let dry and install. They seem to be a good fit and cover the whole area. They look like they will protect the well and keep things from going thru the gap..glad I got them now..

Go buy some rubberized undercoating and put 2 or 3 coats on before you put the liners in if it gets real cold where you live. It goes down in the -30's here and we live on a gravel road. I have had them split because of rock hits at those temps and the rubberized undercoating seems to protect them pretty good.

heck that is a good idea, probably better than the plastic guards. This front is blowing thru now, 4-5 inches of snow and calling for minus wind chills. the install is on hold until it warms back up.. at least a 40 degree day. I was gonna Linex the truck bed , wonder what they would charge to do the wheel well areas? Heck do the whole under carriage..I am gonna ask..if not too expensive it might be a wise investment on avoiding rust and may even act as a road dampener..You got me thinking!!!

Jimmy glad yours went in right. I was trying to put mine in and they just wouldn't line up for all 4 screws, kept looking at it and said this cant be right. Well after a few tries I took them out and looked at part #. This knucklehead at dealer, even after I gave him the right part# orders me part
BC3J-9928371,, the Ford Accessories page says BC3Z-9927886A for SD 2011-2014. No wonder the holes don't line up..Jimmy can you tell me what part# you had on your wheel liners? Are they the BC3Z? Thanks

I don't have the invoice yet as I'm trying to work a deal with the salesman. I will get you that first of the week. I checked the installation instructions but it doesn't have either part number.

I got my 2013 sd f250 done at ziebart complete diamond gloss on paint and complete undercoating for around $800, the undercoating was nice and the diamond gloss on paint keeps your truck from grime sticking to paint and u are guaranteed for a huge discounted price for like 3 years at about $300 for diamond gloss and touch ups on undercoating !!!!!
