I have been posting over on the 67-72 forum for a while and now I'm beginning to spend more time over here so I thought I would introduce myself. I bought a '56 f100 about 9 months ago. I've torn it down to just the cab on the frame and have been gathering parts I need. So I haven't spent much time on it. While out looking for parts I came across a pretty cherry 71 SWB which I was able to get for a good price and have spent several months 'freshing it up'. Now that job is almost complete I'm getting back on my '56. I have found a bed and tailgate. Still looking for that really smooth right front fender so I don't have to do so much body work on my original. I have found another roof to replace my cancer ridden one. My plans are to do a MII front end and I already have a 9" from a 1980 that I will build a 4 link for. I built a nice 429 and a C6 with shift kit in it. I've already gotten a lot of info from this site and especially appreciate the photo CD I got from ff. I'm hoping to have mine ready to drive to PF in 2004!. Sorry this got so long but want to get my intro in.
Ray, Welcome to the 48-60 board. Here you'll find the guys(and gals) are funny and the trucks are great. Can't wait to see some pics and hope to meet you next year at PF. -4speed
"hey fenders... did you hear that 429 we're gaining on yall"
Yes I noticed that. And he wants one of them MII thingies too. Welcome aboard Ray, I see my work is not done here. Like John said, watch where you step around here.
Aw Ray, don't go over to the dark side. When gas hits $5 a gallon you'll be thinkin "Boy, that George sure was right. My big block sucks - literally and figuratively." Besides, you don't need no stinkin' big block to compensate for other deficiencies, do you?
"deficiencies, we don't got no stinkin' deficiencies!" Nope, I'm just 'old school' and a 429 seemed a nostalgaic tribute to my
youth, plus I found one for a song (at least a short tune) and a few bucks. Did the Edelbrock heads, intake and almost did the cam but they couldn't deliver... Can't do the volare, I want to slam it.
Thanks for all the good wishes and I'm glad to know that I have raised the group to an even higher level. I forgot to mention just how helpful, intelligent, talented and extremely good looking I am...
Welcome to the board! I see you brought your grain of salt! It's OK, with all the banter, we're just one great family! Can't wait to see your truck progress. I kept saying mine would be ready for 2003 PF, but it's still sitting in my garage waiting for a fuel tank. I'll second the "volaaaaaaaaarrrrrreeeeeeeeeeee" comment! LOL! Welcome!!
Welcome to this forum! Hope you find us helpful/useful. You've already made friends due to the 429, but keep a sense of humor 'cuz we throw a lot of friendly banter back and forth... all in good fun though!
Welcome and see ya around the forum...

What?? You mean you guys are joking? Man, now I feel bad.
OK guys and gals, who told 'fenders we were joking? Now you go stand in the corner and think about how sad you made everybody (except 'fenders). When you are ready to send an apology to all 100,000 FTE members personally, you can post messages again.
Boy Ray, are you sure you want to hang out with the inmates here?
