They have some metric-***** over there that might have mandated it.

Surprise! All parts are still ASE, and all the parts are interchangeable between the 61-63 GM and all the 3.5 and 4.0 ltr engines up till 2005.

There are ton's of parts available also, cams, big bore kits, custom intake manifolds, stainless valves, forged pistons....... Some of the cars they used them in even had turbos!
