Axle Type

My door tag says I have axle type 39. Which axle is this? Also could you please help me with my diff oil capacity.

Judging by your sig file and not the axle ID nuber I would say you have a 10.25 sterling. Someone may correct me.... If you have a large hub sticking out it is a full-float design, else it is semi-float.

My Ford specifcation manual says that a code 39 is a 3.55 gear ratio and the capacity is 7.5 pints.

Thanks for the help so far. The person I had drain and refill my rear diff used Ford Friction Modifier and filled it with 8.5 pints not 7.5.

Is this going to cause a problem? Or will it be alright and I can just leave it. He overfilled because he couldn't get my fill plug to open up so he filled it through the speed sensor opening.
