Does anyone know the difference in inches between a F350 (non c-n-c) srw and Drw axle? Did a search and couldn't find what I wanted.
i had the other end of the tape up against the backing plate on the other side.as you can see,it's slightly over 59" between the brake backing plates.no other sterling of the era comes close to being this wide.
i don't recall exactly what the srw and cab and chassis measure between their plates.

Dont forget the width of the dually shoes vs SRW shoes
I measure 58" on my dually axle and 54" on SRW axle
that is the rear diff from an f350 dually pickup.a first gen sterling (pre-'93) the donor truck was 1989 460 truck (has tone ring.used for just abs at the time.now used for the dual purpose of speedo and abs sensor in my '93 for the e40d.)
the spring perches are identical to the srw sterling's,in their placement and size.
if you need 3.55 gearing like i did;
to bolt up the 1st gen sterling (through countless hours on the phone with yards all over the US,i came to the conclusion the 2nd gen sterling 93-97 drw pickup axles only came in 4.10 ratios.trust me on this one.3.55 was only an option for 1st gen drw pickup,the 1st and 2nd gen srw and cab n chassis) you can simply use a conversion u-joint and swap to the older style straps.
Carquest Part #2-3050 Rear of Rear Drive Shaft Conversion U-Joint & Moog #331-10 Yoke Strap Kit.
if you need 4.10's just look for the readily available and easily sourced 93-97 updated 2nd gen drw pickup axle.
Too bad you didn't get face of drum to face of drum measurements
I would of had to jack up and remove the tires from all 3 trucks, and I'm not that ambitious. LOL And quite frankly I never thought of getting that measurement.

That is the Important measurement along with the spring perch spacing
I would bet that the drum face to the back of the backing plate would be the same on all axles, so the center of the spring perch to backing plate measurement would tell you if it was a dually axle.
