Good dealership experience Parts wise
I have been driving my truck a lot more than usual the last few days during the holidays. As in 300 miles last week as opposed to that in a month or more. I noticed yesterday that the tailgate and rear bumper were covered in fluid and that it smelled like diesel when I opened the door to turn it off where it had been warming up.
All in the valley was covered with an oily residue. Some oil some fuel. It has always used a little oil in cold weather so I have never really pursued it. Long story short, the majority of the mess was fuel from the fuel drain. It has 203k on it now and I know it has not been done since 128k in 2006. Not having the orings, i called the dealer to see if they did and they did not but offered the whole valve assembly for $80 and did i want him to put his hands on it. I kindly replied I did not think so as I could wait and get it offline for $40. His was too much or I could order the stuff to fix mine for much less. Surprisingly, he said he could sell it to me for $40 plus tax. I installed it and cleaned everything up really well. All that was there today was little oil which i was too busy to spend much time chasing it. But it is towards the middle back so I am guessing EBPV or turbo orings.
It has never had the turbo off or anything else for that matter. I also noticed ICP sensor has oil in it so I guess that is on my to do list as well.
