Hey guys made a ugly bubo. Was changing the outer bearing cup in the rotor from speedway and,put the new one in backwards and before I realized it was to late.what are my options now.

 

You should be able to turn it over and punch it out with a long flat-faced punch. There should be enough of an edge to catch the punch. Just make small hits as you work your way around, hitting it on opposite sides. Knock any burrs off and put it back in the correct way.

I can think of a lot of more serious mistakes that I have made. None unsurvivable.

 

You "might" be able to slip the cone in from the other side and press the race out. It still may dent the race surfaces tho.

 

Are you talking about the bearing adapter that fits on the spindle? If so heat it up with a propne torch and wedge a chisel between the adaptor and slindle body. It should come off easy. then re install it. Good luck.

 

Maybe you can find a big socket that would match the circumference.Wqw, that was a big word for me. Tap it out nice and easy.

If those ideas don't work on your reverse installed cup , and I suspect that there won't be any edge presenting itself to drive against . You can take a cold chisel and create some exposure against which to use a punch .

 

And by the way i've pulled off way worse than that i'm proud to say . One occasion that comes to mind was welding my truck inside a steel rail corral .

 

Not me but a favorite of mine.A friend in highschool changed a quarter panel on his 71 chevelle.Meanwhile they stored the mint back bumper in the trunk.
Guess what had to be cut in half to remove!
