Yeah 4x4 have different oil pans. Dipstick is on front and front sump on 2wd. Think sometimes the oil filter adapter can be different too. I have a car one or 2wd truck one on my 390 and it sticks the oil filter straight out the side instead of making it up and down. Think I have a front sump pan on mine, it clears the differential because of the lift, haven't had an issue yet.
Headers are different too from 2wd to 4wd. Try them they might work.
2wd headers are different than 4x4, also 4x4 F100/150 are different than F250 4x4, due to different suspension (front leaf springs on F250,coil springs on F100/150).
If the "new" engine was from a 2wd, you will also need the special main cap bolt that has a stud to support the 4x4s longer oil pickup tube. The 4x4 pan has the dipstick tube located in the pan itself, on a 2wd (or car) FE, the dipstick goes into a hole in the block, just behind where the oil filter adpater bolts on. If you use the 4x4 pan setup, you will need to plug the hole in the block to prevent an oil leak.
Ok, now I am on the hunt for an oil pan, dipstick tube (could always use aftermarket, they are cheap enough), downward facing oil filter mount, pickup tube, main cap bolts.
The oil pan is proving difficult to find unless I want to spend $250 from Summit.
Downward facing filter mount I haven't even begun trying to source, if anyone knows someone who has one let me know please.
Pickup tube I hope O'Reilly has one for a rear sump.
Main cap bolts I would assume I could buy a set of ARP's or similar and they would have that one odd bolt in the kit.
