Thrust washer importance??
Posting for a friend who just replaced his ball joints and hubs - he reassembled everything and found the plastic/nylon thrust washer on the floor when he was cleaning up.
Is it imperative to have that washer in place between the hub and the axle? With it being missing would it only effect end-play with the hub and/or tooth engagement of the axle to the R&P?

It goes between your hub and knuckle/axle seal. If left out I'm sure the ESOF would not operate. I don't know exactly what damage it might do if left out though.
