my build thread, beast version 2.0

Hello everyone, ive been on the forums for a while and I figured I would start my own thread on my frankentruck. First off a had previously built a truck aka beast 1.0 and it was a great truck but never got the money or parts to make it exactly how I wanted it. Here's a picture of the original build.

My new truck is an 82, f250 originally with a 351 a np435 and a semi floater dana 60 rear and ttb 44 front.

I got the truck by trading an ex400 for her and the other guy probably got the better end of the deal, everything was worn out on it. The next step was the parts truck, the neighbor across the street ended up having exactly what I needed a 1991 crew diesel f350, trans had gone out in it ( an e4od) and it had been parked for a while, the thing was beat to hell but the engine ran and the axles were in good shape.

The next part on my list was an np205, found it on cl for 150 bucks, cleaned it up and resealed it, it was good to go.

I had originally planned on using the 351 but after a little research I decided to use the idi, found a core support from a local part person and the bell housing for a diesel as well. the other thing I ended up having to swap over to a hydraulic clutch, was a pain in it butt finding all the parts to swap it over, found a pedal set at pnp but that was the easy part.

Here's a few pictures of the axle swap.

Anyway here's how the truck sits now, ive been driving it for roughly 7 months and I love it, it rides like a bar of steel but handles pretty well. The specs on her: 7.3 idi, head studded plans for future turbo setup, np435 trans, np205 t case, dana 60 kingpin front, sterling 10.25 limited slip rear. bucket seats from a bronco and center console, new dash, door panels, kick panels. cowl from the 91.

One other update, I swap to the hook style wiper arms from a 96 ford instead of the crappy pin style.

Nice looking truck. I too enjoy watching others build their trucks. I hope to some day have a build thread of my own.

Nice looking truck man. I love those old single cab bull nose Fords. Anyway what type of turbo do you plan on putting on it? And do you have other plans for engine mods?

thanks for the replys, ill be updating the tread as I do things. my future plans first I want to lift her, most likely 6 inch with ladder bars and other goodies, the next mod will be a turbo setup. I had bought an old non-waste gated banks kit but the center cartridge was worn and I didn't feel like messing with trying to get a new one so I would like to build my own setup from scratch, we have an exhaust bender at my work so would be fairly easy to make down pipes and such, but as far as what turbo I have no clue, never have I turbocharged anything so may need some suggestions. Lastly would be lockers front and rear for the diffs as I plan I using this rig for the beach like my previous truck. If I have time I will be adding my winch I have laying around on the front end and of course more lights!

The size of turbo you end up with would depend on desired power levels and coinciding with that is the amount of fuel you want.

A little update, brought my wipers into the 21st century by adding intermittent wipers, tired of constantly flipping the **** on and off while driving in the rain, so here are some pics of the process.

remove the old switch

the old unit

new switch and inline module

new switch in and faceplate on, just a bolt in mod that took 10 minutes!

X2, that looks like a decent switch. The PO put one in my truck and its total chit. More like random mode than intermittent. I'd like to find a good solid replacement. Nice truck by the way, always nice to see a slant nose getting a build up

I got the switch at the junkyard from a truck with the factory option, just plug n play. I think it cost me a whole 12 bucks for the switch/module.
