I just read this e-mail I got from my brother in Georgia. It said that if you are alone and start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw, that you should immediately start coughing vigorously and repeatedly. A deep breath should be taken before each cough. And a cough must be repeated about every 2 seconds without let up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. It says that coughing in that way is similar to performing CPR on yourself. I am in my late-40's and know that this could happen at anytime. Just thought I'd pass it along.
Yea, see what you mean. Better reply to my brother and let him know or else he'll be spreading this along. Glad I posted it and appreciate the response.
Any time you have sever pain that radiates into the arms and into the lower jaw you should contact medical personnel immediately. Denial of a heart attack kills more people that you realize. Just two weeks ago I was ecxperiencing severe chest pain that went up into my jaw and even included the jugular veins in my neck. The pain shot through to between my shoulder blades...entirely freaking me out, so I ended up calling 911 and spending the night in thehospital. As it turns out, they dont know what had happened, I noe have a huge medical bill--no insurance-- but at least I know my heart is good. Still dont know what happened, but safe is better than SORRY AT ANY COST.
