HELPPPP. HEADLIGHTS

Hey all. I did the HID headlight swap about a month and a half ago. Driving tonight about an hour away in heavy constant rain my headlights have gone out... They have flickered. They have gone in and out a couple times but end up off. Any ideas on. Quick fix????

check your + & - connections, most likely bad ground or switch

Could it have gone bad like that out of no where? Anything I can do to fix for my drive?

If they were flickering, check the grounds first...check the fuse on the harness too

Fuse was good. Grounds looked solid. Would wetness cause the grounds to not work right? Hour later still off though and barely been sprinkling./.

I guess it wasn't actually flickering but it would just randomly turn on the lights then off. Not flickers though.

I don't think so, maybe water got into the ballasts? I've had my hids installed for almost 2 years, been through a lot of wetness. Usually if they flicker, it's the ground.

Guess I'll have to check her tomorrow. 2 hours in on and off rain and not large roads. Woo. That was fun!

Thanks for the help I appreciate the quick responses!

It is sounding less like a ground now but do not eliminate option, was this problem occurring prior to install? if not I'm assuming something is a miss in the harness that was disturbed or chaffed prior and has now surfaced itself. There is a wire/wires shorting out somewhere between head lamps and your switch that is getting moisture in it and unfortunately it is going to be hard to find as it seems to be not bad enough to kill the lights all at once but is gradual. I would thoroughly inspect the area on the inner fender well for weather cracking wires or a leaking brake booster etc dripping onto wires and any part of the harness that looks like it is being weathered badly.

Would this be something I could take in on warranty even though I did the HID swap?

My guess would be if you was to find the fault within the package that you purchased then yes, but otherwise if it is found that the problem is within your harness then no.

Sorry I was talking warranty with ford.

Also. My one headlight that has been working tonight just shut off as I was driving
