I know this is over done and theres 100's of threads on it but I want to get some fresh input on the idea
This is the kind of bed I want to put on my truck. I was thinking 4x4s across the frame and bolt them down to the frame then deck it using 2x6s and use 2x8s around the edges. But I'm wanting a head ache rack as well. On this note I was thinking of making a tool box up against the cab and fasten the head ache rack to the sides of the box. Has anyone done this. Do any of y'all have a better idea on how to do this? Advice on how y'all have done this in the past how about and pictures of what y'all have built.
P.S. the picture does not belong to me I found it on the internet I'm just using it as a refernce
One thing, don't bolt it directly to the frame. The natural flex of things will rip it apart. Make runners that go the length of the frame and use u-bolts or bolts and straps to fasten them down. Then build on that. Everything else sounds cool!
