I like having the VentShade Ventvisors on my windows - keeping the windows cracked on a 95 degree Iowa summer day when a storm springs up - it's a nice feature to have. I've had the clip in ones in the past (that clip into the window slots). I now have a 2000 250 crew cab, and after doing some research with the folks at Cabelas, I've determined that VentShade ONLY makes the tape on ones for my style of truck - no longer the clip in ones.
Whats everyone's experience with these 3M tape VentVisors - do they stay attached well? DO they look as good as the clip ins?
IMHO, I think the snap in ones look the best. Try *******************.com and check out their visors or the EGR slimlines for your application. Steve83 is right about the tape and how they look to you.
Many thanks crewbear... I did some research on the erg's which led me to truckstuffusa, which then led me to the weatherflectors by weathertech. They are clip in, they have them for 99-03 f250 crew cabs, and even better, rather then smoke colored, they come in clear acrylic - which I think might be kinda cool. Thanks for the input - didn't know about erg's, which led me to.... oh - never mind.... :-)
I've heard bad things about the tape visors. I went with a company called WeatherTech and these things are awesome. The slide right in to your window seals so the can be taken out anytime and they are twice as thick as most of the competition. I paid about $50 for them and they are still holding up great. I'd get some--well worth it.
I had the vent visors on my 00 Ranger 4 dr. 4 peice set. They stuck just great, and had no problems. If you do get them, I would get a dry erase marker, and make an outline on the doors. Once you take the film off the tape, and try to do it by eye, and mess up, its terrible. so thats what I would reccomend doing if you get the stick on kind.
I had the clip in WeatherTech's on my '99 F-250 SD and now on my '02 SuperCrew. I think they look much better than the tape on's. Plus, if you have to replace a tape on, it's a beast getting that tape off.
