Death Wobble Fixed!

I've had Death Wobble issues on my 2011 F-250 with 38K miles. The dealer previously upgraded the steering stabilizer and that helped the problem for a short period but it eventually returned. I just had a Readylift 2.5x2.0 leveling kit installed along with Toyo AT2 35x12.5R20 on my factory King Ranch rims.

I also had them install the Readylift 77-2000 Trac Bar which replaces the ball joint on the lower end of the trac bar with a fixed mount clevis. This has dramatically changed the drive characteristics of my truck. I no longer have any type of wobble or shimmy when hitting bumps at freeway speeds. The truck drives fantastic and I am very pleased.

A very reputable shop with a lot of F250 experience did the work and they told me the leading cause of our F250 death wobble problems are front shocks and trac bar issues.

Hope this helps someone else with this problem.

My 2011 F-250 just developed the death wobble over the last 2000 miles, just rolled over 40,000. Gotta do something fast as it's getting worse and worse!

Here's the link to that trac bar for others that may search for solutions to the Death Wobble as I have just done looking for answers.

The main issue with the stock track bar isn't the ball-joint end, it's the rubber bushing end. If the stock ball joint is still in normal shape you can reuse it without expecting issues. I fixed my wobble issue with just a new stock track bar. You will have to expect to replace the rod-end joints on the after-market bar on a semi-regular basis, but they are not expensive. You might be able to get or make a rubber boot to protect the rod end, and remember that the chassis end bolt needs to be torqued to 405 ft lbs.
