craigslist find

well, I always cruise craigslist across the nation, and stumbled upon this truck a little bit ago

here's the description in the ad

1997 Ford F350 XLT Dually 2wd, 7.3 diesel automatic trans, Only 62 Original miles, Power windows and locks, tilt and crews, bench seats front and rear. $35,000 OBO Cash or Cashier check.

seems pretty nuts to me, but the truck looks immaculate, like super clean.

its unfortunate that it is only 2wd, although a 4wd conversion wouldnt be too hard with an RSK, and while your in there, throw a zf5 in it,

he is asking 35k which who really knows what its worth, being there is nothing else to base it off of if the 62 mile claim is true.....

I have seen a few on ebay that had 460 auto 4x4 rclb with only 2k miles and if i remember right went for high 20s, super clean truck needless to say

I'll put the link in it below, its somewhere in texas lol too far for me to check it out and a little out of my price range, but figured i'd share, and definitel share your opinions whether you think its true or not...

I don't think it could just be the tripometer that is 62 miles,,,, because i know mine doesnt read like that with the zero's in the front on my trip....

Looks like an odometer to me,,

Car dealerships would give schools/tech colleges vehicles (as a write off) for training and diagnostics.
They usually had a junk or scrap title to keep the school from selling them after. Some states allow a salvage/repair title to a previously junked vehicle but it's tricky. But like a repaired vehicle, you get it signed off by state police inspectors and you're good to go.

Other than the truck having nearly everything disassembled and reassembled by students, should be a nice truck.

Also, I know a few schools, hospitals, and business that buy trucks and either not use them or just get used on the property. Hospital near my house in Maine has an 03 1ton dump with 100 miles on it when I started using it. Freakin weird

Check carfax and see what it discloses.

62 miles? I'd worry about every electrical component on there, as well as anything that has fluid and seals. Sitting is worse than using it.

Funny thing is the underside isn't much cleaner than my truck which spent a couple years in southern Ohio before I got it.

About the 0's in the odometer, do any digital odometers have 0's in the empty spots? I can't say with certainty on a Ford, but on my cars, the spots were blank until a 1 shows up. Approach with caution.

Wow! What a beautiful truck! Pretty neat that it still retains those stickers on the frame rail above the rear tires too.

It's nice, but just a little out of my budget
