97 f250 light duty transfer case linkage questions
I am In the process of swapping in a manual shift bw4406 in place of the electronic shift bw4406. I have been searching thru online ford dealers and have even called the local ford dealer which wasn't any help at all. The only ford parts site that showed me anything was stupid expensive and didn't actually give a part number. Just a sub category number. I am looking for the lower control which will bolt to my e4od and the rod which goes from the lower control to the transfer case. The prices I found were 120 for the lower control, and 150 for the rod. Those prices seem very high for what the parts are to me. I am wondering if someone might know the actual part number for these parts so that I can do some deeper searching.

I already found the parts and got it taken care of.

I got all parts from a salvage yard. I don't have any part numbers. It's a real simple swap though. Cut out the hole in the floor pan, bolt the lower shift assembly to, the transmission, bolt the shifter to the lower assembly and install the boots. From there just install the manual transfer case and attach linkage from lower control to the transfer case. Since I used a shift assembly from a 5 speed I had to modify it a bit and this required a custom adjustable shift linkage rod, but it was real simple to make. If you use the correct part number for your application for these parts everything is bolt together. Took me about 2 hours to modify and install shift assembly and another 3 hours to install the transfer case. Wiring is real simple also. A switching relay to control the front diff solenoids, 2 diodes and adding a few wires is all it takes. The 4 wheel drive system is complete seperated from the gem module at this point. Later on I am going to add a cable shift lock for the front diff to be fully manual, but it works well the way it is.
