I am posting this for my brother... 2005 F350 6.0 122k miles, SCT tune removed back to factory tune, not studded.
At idle he has quite a bit of smoke coming out of his dipstick tube. It smells like oil, no diesel fuel smell at all. The only thing I can think of is worn rings, but at 120k that is a bit unlikely so I was hoping for some input.
What are the potential causes for this, blown HG, cracked head?? I took a 7 second video of it but I am not sure how to post videos...
You got Rings and Valve guides maybe Blown Head Gaskets Bottom Ends Seam really Good so Find hard to believe rings but Never Know you may need to Do a LEAKDOWN TEST Is there Any Puke Shane???
He has had some puking that just started in the last 2 weeks or so, but he bought the kit to check for excessive degas pressure. The results indicate that the HG are OK..
I also find it hard to believe its rings too due to the mileage, but he did buy it used so who knows how the truck was treated previously... We were looking to stud it soon, but we are now concerned that will be for nothing if it is worn rings...
Well, I was watching a few youtube video's that cr38er posted on blown HG and blowby. I am leaning towards HG's since there has been some puking... But the pressure test came out good is the only thing that is making me second guess that scenario...
