Thanks! I'm just about the most in love you could be w something that burns oil... At least your work area looks warm!!
Well it is Texas after all. Although last weekend that spot was covered in 3 inches of sleet and ice (picture was taken today). Right when the ice storm hit, I was in the middle of doing the ball joints. I didn't finish due to lack of correct socket, so I put it back together so I could drive it. It was sleeting and dark. Was soaked.
Over the weekend I started and completed the ball joints and brake pads, but with a 101 fever and Saturday it was 45 degrees.
BUT, is is Texas, and it beats doing a piston, in a backhoe, in the driveway up north like OSU is.

I think we drove through the day after that chit, right on its heals!!
I guess I am also a bit lucky. Before my parents bought a double wide to park on our 6 acres, my grandpa built a quanzid hut. Not sure of the dimensions but it currently houses a 1970 Mach 1, 1980 El Camino, a handful of riding lawn mowers, my 7.3L engine, my 6.2L engine, golf cart, wood burning stove, a work bench w/ tool box and it also has a kitchen and non-working bathroom. Even after all this crap is crammed in there, I can still roll in the dually with plenty of room all around. Only bad part is, it is still "technically" my grandpas garage even though its on our property and he raises hell if you leave a truck parked in there too long...
In the driveway in front of the garage for pretty much everything but fluid changes(driveway is too steep for that, have to use the street). I can pull most of the truck into the garage for some things if need be but can't close the garage door.
In our shop. I built the first 40x60 for dad 15ish years ago. I then added 36x56 going 90* off it for myself. The heated/ac part of the shop is about 30x56. Over the last 20+ years we've accumulated a pretty good amount of tools in it. Worked many years out of a single car garage.
I've said it before, I'll say it again. If you want to get any work done in the winter up here you need a decent shop. Summer too, I ain't working in that crappy 90*+ heat either.

Your not kidding it does, gravel driveway that is. Im in the wonderful (sarcastic emphasis on the wonderful) state of New Jersey (i think on the first page you asked what state im in)
Darin that shop is amazing. When the wife and I started looking at houses, one of the criteria must haves was a shop. Found this, it's rough, but it's on it's way. This pic was taken when we were still in contract about a year ago. Roof has been replaced, trim still needs addressed and it needs painted, but all the overgrowth is gone. The front part is a 2.5 or 3 car depending on vehicles. The back is 30x30. I think. I've never measured it. Lol.
Nothing but driveway although I have a friend with a decent shop I can pull the front end into. He has a bunch of tools too so that helps. But i have pretty much done everything else in my driveway. NC is pretty moderate with most winter days at least around 40 and the summers in the low 90's. Summers suck because you sweat like crazy with the humidity and the skeeters will eat you alive, but it isn't unbearable. Someday I am going to have a decent shop... someday. Pic below shows the driveway is flat and not too far from the garage filled with all the crap my kids have!!!
