No not in 1978. The first year Ford made the F350 4x4 was in 1979, both reg cab and super cab.

If you are interested in the truck, get the vin#...we can tell you more about the truck with the vin# as to the originality of it.

Nice looking truck tho.

I don't think the am/fm/8-tracks were available from the factory for these years (78/79) in our trucks as well...? I like the push out rear side windows, its definitely a nice looking ride and he has dropped some cash on it!!

I agree it's a nice looking truck and it appears he put a lot of effort into it. I just think he should be more straight forward on what it really is..........the dream everything 78 supercab. I can't imagine someone willing to pay high dollars for a 35 year old truck wouldn't on the same things everyone has pointed out here.

I also don't see any camper special badges.........

But, unless I win the mega millions tomorrow, it's not something I need to worry about.....

Yeah it has the camper special badges on it...look below the side marker lights on each front fender--kinda hard to see but they are there.

Could you order a truck back then that was both a camper special and a trailer special? I would have thought you could order one or the other, but not both. By the way, what were the differences between those two packages back in the late 70's?
It is a beautiful truck, though. I'd love to decode the VIN on it.

8 tracks were an option. But I think they were a dealer install.

Couple complaints; front blocks, really? all that work and you reuse the rusted factory horn?

Other than that, I like it. It gives me ideas for my exhaust now.

Also, I'm rebuilding mine basically the same way. I will have less than $5000 in it minus whatever I spend on tires when I'm done. Even if I payed someone to do most of the work, I don't see how it could be anywhere NEAR $40,000 invested.

That gives a idea for my exhaust since I have dual tanks.

What VIN number, something is missing.

They weren't.

I'd have to look through my book to see if they even list both options on one truck.

This guy seems to think they made 78 F-350 4wd Supercabs as well. Ford F 350 4x4 | eBay
He also thinks that X25 was the correct VIN number. There is a whole thread for him here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...y-s-brown.html

Nice catch on the vin plate, I guess I missed that!!

Yeah, I emailed the seller on the other supercab on ebay to inform him the vin# wasn't correct, along with several other issues I noticed but I never got a reply back!!

I guess we continue to see guy's willing to misrep our trucks regardless just to make a quick buck...How do these guys stay in business?
