Headlight replacement

Have an 86 f150 and I need to know what kind of headlights to get and where to get them because mine are getting really dim

Go to autozone or someplace like that and they are sitting on the shelf. But if yours are dim, then new ones probably won't help. What is the voltage on the battery at idle with the lights on?

You might consider a relay kit.
Helps a lot to get that load off the dashboard wiring.
The plug at the switch can get oxidized and really heat up.

I got the aftermarket headlights and a heavy duty harness from lmc. About $50-$60 bucks. Changes the headlights to a new style bulb replacement system. Glass housings so no fading. Light output doubled and then some. The harness is plug and play. Once i get the silver star ultra bulbs (which i use in my exploder and wifes car) lights will be about triple of stock output but with the relays in the harness the draw will be less. Just another option you may think about.
